10 Weeks Old

I love that Nate was able to capture this face on camera today. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does I am willing to do just about anything to make it go away. Isn't it the saddest face you've ever seen?! I wasn't at home so I don't know the story behind it, but I knew I needed to share it.

Facing the world

Harper was able to face out in the Bjorn today and she seemed to enjoy it... for a few minutes until she decided it was a comfortable position to sleep in.

I have sat here for about 10 minutes trying to decide what to say about Nate's silly face...my creative juices are not flowing so instead I will just let everyone know the truth...Nate loves to be a dork!

Family Dinner

Harper only lasted in the Bumbo long enough to take the picture and two bites of salad. I guess it's a start.

Sunday

I've been accused of always being behind the camera now that we have 2 kids. So here I am with my baby girl, coffee, coupons and Gus on a Sunday morning. Life is good.

Never a dull moment

My life is full of eventful moments. This particular moment looks relatively calm. Nate is watching football while attempting to put Harper in her Bumbo chair. Baron is trying to shove a pacifier into Harper's mouth. He doesn't have pants on because he wanted to use his potty moments before the picture, but became distracted by a loose pacifier.

Now here is the moment that the camera did not catch. Shortly after the picture is taken, Harper is crying in the Bumbo because she is tired of holding herself up. Nate is mad at the Cougars because...well...they are the Cougars. I pick up Harper to calm her down. Baron sits in the Bumbo and pees because the Bumbo resembles his potty chair. AWESOME....just awesome...this is my life and deep down I love it!

Baron is going through a phase where he wants to drink a smoothie every single day. We have one rule that he has to sit on the kitchen rug to drink them to keep our carpet safe. He loves to bump glasses and say "Cheers!"

Our Babies

Our baby boy is 20 months today!
He is full of personality and a complete goofball.

Our baby girl is 8 weeks old tomorrow. Time is flying.
She is also starting to develop a personality of her own.
Thankfully the love for each other continues and it will be my daily prayer that it continues for years to come.

A moment I never want to forget.

I hope I am able to write this story well because the picture does not do it justice. Today Baron climbed up in the chair that I usually sit in when I feed Harper. He asked for the boppy pillow which is typical when he wants to hold her. Next he asked for Harper. I laid her down on the pillow and to my surprise Baron told me Harper was hungry. He lifted his shirt and leaned over her saying "Nummy Nummy Nummy." Oh Baron, you are so observant! Thank you for your patients, Harper.

Harper is usually up before Baron which is nice because I can feed her and enjoy her a little before the choas of the day begins. Then when Baron wakes up he wants Harper in his crib to enjoy her for awhile. I love this picture because she is watching him so closely (perhaps for her own safety).

There is so much to see these days. She kept her eyes open much longer than normal this morning. Perhaps it was because Grandma and Grandpa Weber are here and there are different voices and things going on in the house.

Finally Harper had enough and those eyelids could not stay open any longer while Grandma held her. Goodnight Harper, we'll see you in an hour or so.

The lake, pizza and a party!

It doesn't get much better than this. We spent the weekend in Maple Valley to enjoy the last of our beautiful summer weather. We went to the lake and Baron had a blast. He even convinced his Aunt Alyson to get in the water with him. I believe his exact words were "Al-de-zen, SIT!"



He was exhausted and cold after his swim so he rode back in the red wagon that his dad and grandpa have been rebuilding. It looks pretty good huh?



When Baron and his aunt Alsyon get together it is nothing but trouble! Baron shows off, Alyson laughs...it is a cycle that cracks me up, but makes me cringe all at the same time. Below is a picture of Baron after eating pizza and an ice cream sandwhich with Alyson (really I am not sure we can qualify this as eating because he is wearing the majority of his food).



The next day Grandma Holstein had a party for Harper. We called it a "Sip & See" or "Chug and Hug." It was a casual BBQ so neighbors and family friends could come and meet Harper. Grandma Holstein throws one heck of a party. The food was delicious, the decor was adorable and the people were great. We only forgot one thing - to take pictures!! So here is the guest of honor with her daddy the next morning.

Puppy Love

Gus and Baron have had time to build a very special bond which means Baron tells Gus what to do and he does it. In return, Gus gets scraps from the high chair and on occasion (when I am not looking) an entire meal.

I often wonder what Gus thinks about us bringing home "another one." For now he seems to love her the same way he loved Baron when he was a baby.

On a side note - could these two look more serious?!!

Pretend Play

This summer my mom found an awesome play kitchen for Baron. He has not stopped playing with it since it entered our house. While I nurse Harper he makes me all sorts of gourmet meals and drinks. I love to watch his imagination work. He makes little noises while he pours, stirs and cooks food on his stove. The down side is that Baron also likes to take his snacks to this kitchen and so it regularly has real food sitting on and in it. Then today - in a split second - Baron grabbed a box of dry fish batter out of my cupboard while I was cooking dinner and poured it all over his kitchen (and everything within 20 feet of him). I had my back turned to him, but when he started to pour the mix it sounded like a cake mix being emptied into a bowl and I flew into the living room knowing that I was going to witness a huge mess. As Harper and I inhaled the dusty fumes I asked "Whatcha doin' Baron?" His response "Cooking."
