Summer Schedule

I've been so thankful for dry weather and the chance to get outside and play. We've been go-go-going non-stop. To the park, to a playdate, to Stroller Strides, to the park, to a playdate, to Stroller Strides....
Today I looked at the kids and realized we needed a stay at home day. An eat-oatmeal-in-our-diapers-and-underwear-on-the-couch day. We just needed to let go of the summer schedule and RELAX!

Our Anniversary

Our kids like to look at my wedding ring on a regular basis. I always say "this means that I am going to love your daddy forever and ever and ever and ever..." It is hard to believe that I made that promise 7 years ago. Even more difficult to believe that we have been together for over a decade! To celebrate we packed the kids up and headed to Cannon Beach for the day. The weather was perfect! The kids were in heaven. Baron was almost like a little puppy. He ran and ran and ran (any dog owners know this is exactly what a dog does at the beach). Here are a few of my favorite pictures.
This is what I feel like on a daily basis...trying to hold onto two kids, both running at different speeds and headed different directions. No wonder I am exhausted at the end of the day!

Like I mentioned earlier, Baron ran the entire time. His feet were in the air in the majority of the photos.

Harper loved the sand on her feet, but did not appreciate the wave that snuck up on her and Nate after I took this picture.
These next two pictures were snapped as in a split second. I was actually trying to capture a few of Harper touching the sand. Then in a flash her brother ran past and tripped. He lost his grip on the shovel as he tripped. Crash landing, but he didn't even notice.

so we stopped for ice cream (a beach tradition) which is probably why they didn't nap on the way home.

Trucks and Tutus

I have come to the conclusion that Harper only crawls so that she can get to an object (couch, truck, wall, etc.) and pull herself to a stand.
It really doesn't get much cuter than this (in my humble mom opinion)! She is working hard and putting many more miles on this truck.

DAD Pictures: Take 2 and Exciting News!

It took me awhile to gain the cofidence to take the "DAD" pictures for Nate's Father's Day frame after the head incident in May. It doesn't help that the weather has been too rainy to get them outside for the pictures like I wanted. Today we ventured out to the soggy backyard and took a few. It was a much better experience this time although getting both kids to look at the camera at the same time is nearly impossible.

Harper was cautious everytime I handed her the letters to hold. I think she linked it with the traumatic experience!
BIG NEWS!!! Tonight while I was out to dinner with a friend (which I RARELY do) I received a video text from Nathan. My baby girl decided to start crawling! I couldn't believe she did it for the first time when I was not home. I even started to tear up at dinner. Thankfully Heather is the type of friend who got just as excited as I did and didn't mind that I watched the video 5 times during our dinner date. I have to admit that I was starting to worry. In seven days she will be 11 months. Thank goodness she is my second child because if she were my first I probably would have been taking her to the docotor and specialists, etc. Instead I was able to tell myself that every baby is different and has their own schedule. I just wasn't sure how much longer I could tell myself that...YEAH HARPER!!

She Missed the Memo

Oatmeal is supposed to go in your mouth, Harper. Not in your armpit, on your belly, in your diaper and ALL OVER your high chair.

Playing with Daddy

It is funny how two people can play with the same children and toys and come up with completely different ways to play. Her toothy grin never gets old!

Work Day

We worked hard today putting 1.5 yards of gravel and 3 yards of bark around the yard. The kids wore their work clothes so they could help. From now on we will no longer refer to them as "work" clothes. They have been renamed "obstruction" clothes.

Attempting to Crawl

She is working on the position to start crawling...any day now we will have a mobile baby.

Summer Nights

The weather was perfect to eat outside tonight. We also decided to try an early crop of corn on the cob and it wasn't too bad. This was Harper's first time having corn on the cob. She watched us with carefully and finally picked hers up. She has had corn many times, but it is a different sensory experience on the cob.

She liked it! She was full of silly faces and smiles while eating it. Look at the picture below closely. That is not her top tooth showing. It is a piece of corn stuck to her top tooth.

I was enjoying the exploration from Harper, but in the background there was a small voice (who am I kidding - a LOUD voice) saying "Watch MEEEEE" and "Take a picture of MEEEEE!" I hear these words often. So often I might tune them out once in a while. After reviewing the pictures I realized that he was trying REALLY hard to get my attention.

Weber Grandchilren

Four grandchildren were added to the Weber household in 18 months (and one week if we want to get technical). All four of them have one thing in common - they love to sit on Grandma's kitchen counter.
In a few short weeks we will add a new baby girl and in a few short months another baby girl! 3 boys followed by 3 girls. I have one word to describe family gatherings - chaos.

WARNING: Water at the Weber house should not be consumed by individuals who have no interest in becoming pregnant!

On the Farm

Since we were in Leavenworth for Memorial Day, we decided to extend our long weekend so we could spend time in Quincy.
I think Baron truly believes that the lawn would not get mowed if it weren't for him helping papa. They do it together almost every time we visit. Papa will even do it two times in less than a week just to make Baron happy.
While Baron helped Papa, Harper found a blue horse in the basement that she liked to ride!
We spent alot of time outside enjoying the weather while we were there. Nathan was working on a project for my parents in the yard so we were his directors/cheering squad/major distractions.
Baron was digging in the fresh dirt and finding new friends. We have worms all over because of the rain in Oregon City, but he was more interested in digging these worms out of the ground.
I never thought there would be a day when I felt sorry for a worm, but this was the day. Baron had to examine it from one end to the other. He carried them around and showed everyone.
Harper found a new favorite riding toy. She loves loud noises and power! It was no surpise that she liked the mini power wheels. Her brother, on the other hand, will not get within 5 feet of it. It makes me smile that I have a very cautious child and an adventurous one as well.
